Easy Company (20 July 1942 in Camp Toccoa, Georgia – 30 November 1945 in France) was part of the second battalion (which also included Dog and Fox Companies) of the United States Army's 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division.〔Ambrose, p.289〕 The unit was made famous by the HBO miniseries ''Band of Brothers'', based on the book of the same name by historian Stephen Ambrose. It chronicled its wartime experiences from basic training at Toccoa, Georgia, through the American airborne landings in Normandy, Operation Market Garden, the Battle of Bastogne, and the end of the war at Hitler's Eagle Nest. == Living E Company members – 16 veterans == The oldest living Easy Company member is Donald Malarkey, aged , and the youngest is Don Bond aged .
